The Textile & Engineering Institute is renowned for its high quality research culture & research has been integral part of education right from its inception.
Over the last 20 years the textile division has been engaged in research of high standing, having both industrial relevance and academic excitement. More than 1190 papers have been published and over 500 technical papers presented at national and international conferences, symposia and seminars. In the last 12 years 95 students have obtained their master's degrees from reputed institutes in India and abroad.

Right from the establishment of electronics division, spirit of research was nurtured, having had a project " Artificial intelligence applied to textiles". A variety of industrial projects like development of biosensors, fuzzy logic based process control systems, data compressions etc. have been undertaken. Many of them are interdisciplinary. On the basis of these investigations and research, many research papers have been published in the journals of national and international repute.
