SALIENT FEATURES OF COURSE

• With the growing demand for Telecommunication worldwide, a four-year degree course in Electronics & telecommunication was started from the academic year 2002-2003.
• This course is a blend of telecommunication, electronics, computer science & Information Technology.
• This program gives more stress on the core subjects like Digital Communication, electromagnetic Engineering, Microwave Engineering, and Broadband Communication, Telemetry & Micro controllers.
• Special elective subjects like , Advanced Optical Communication, Advanced signal reception, VLSI, Wireless Technology, Embedded Systems & Artificial intelligence enhance the knowledge of students.
• This program also provides practical knowledge about recent trends in communication & DSP, Radar systems, applied to Telecommunication. The curriculum has been designed to augment the practical skills of students as demanded by the present Telecom Industry.

Glimpses of the EXTC Department
From July 2004, the department has developed the under shown laboratories & is in the process of making them full fledged with advanced communication equipment needed for their curriculum. They are:

• Measurement lab
• Basic communication lab.
• Advanced communication lab.

Being in the budding stage our department has organized the various workshops for the curriculum development.

• Department organized workshop on the subject, “ Transmission Lines & Antennas” of T. E. EXTC Sem – I on 13/ 07/ 2004 for the faculty of EXTC Engineering colleges affiliated to Shivaji University.
• Department organized workshop on the subject, “ Advanced Communication Kits” of T. E. EXTC Sem – II on 10/ 01/ 2005 to 14/01/2005 for the faculty of EXTC Engineering colleges affiliated to Shivaji University.
• Department organized workshop on the subject, “ Micro controllers” of T. E. EXTC Sem – II on 20/ 01/ 2005 for the faculty of EXTC Engineering colleges affiliated to Shivaji University.
