 Two days workshop on Industrial Automation

Two workshops were carried out at Mechanical Engineering Department on the theme “Industrial Automation” from 18th to 20th December 2014. The first basic workshop titled “Hydraulics and Pneumatics” was for Third Year Mechanical students which included topics like Basic Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Components and circuits and applications and advantages and limitations of each system followed by hands on session at BOSCH Lab.

The second advanced workshop titled “ Mechatronics and PLC” for final year students included basics of Mechatronics and PLC, PLC programming and Electro-pneumatics which too had extensive programming lab session. The workshop ended with mini-project based on course contents.

Prof. M. A. Bote, Prof. B. B. Kabnure, Prof. V. R. Balwan, Prof. S. M. Karmuse and Prof. S. R. Prasad delivered lectures. Prof. Dr. V. R. Naik and Prof. S. A. Soundattikar conducted lectures and organized the workshops.

CETIFICATE COURSE ON AUTOMOTIVE PART DESIGN USING CATIA ASSOCIATION WITH HOYT ENGG SOLUTIONS.

 Mechanical department of DKTE's Textile and engineering Institute has conducts a certificate course, “Automotive Part Design Using CATIA” in association with Hoyt Engineering Solutions, Pune in the month of May and December every semester when the students are on vacation after their semester exams. Uptil now about 300 students and faculty members from various institutes and working professionals have been benefited by this course. In this semester it is being conducted during 22nd December 2014 to 13th January 2015. This was 15th successful batch of the course.
Prof D. A. Chougale from DKTE taught part design and reverse engineering, Mr. Shrikant  from HOYT Pune, taught surface design and. Dr. S. S. Patil delivered lecture on automotive part terminology while Mr.Girish of HOYT deliberated plastic molding processes, GD(Geometric dimensioning  &T(Tolerance) .
The faculty coordinators for these activities were Prof. D. A. Chougale and Prof. Dr. V. R. Naik.

Introduction

India is the growing economy and can emerge to be among the world's first four economic powers by 2020 as envisioned by former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He mentioned in the book “India 2020: A Vision for the New Millennium” that India need to focus on development of manufacturing sector to support its own growth.In this context, we are pleased to inform you that Department of Mechanical Engineering, DKTE’s Textile and Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji is organizing Short Term Training Programme(STTP) on “Advanced Manufacturing Techniques” during January 12, 2015 to January 16, 2015.  The programme is designed to leverage incremental enrichment in knowledge of professionals and faculty members in overall drive for making India a manufacturing hub.

Brief Background

DKTE offers remarkable range of programmes paired with an extraordinary breadth of extracurricular activities and opportunities for research, independent study and community services. The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers PG programme in Product Design and Development (PDD) along with UG and PhD programmes. The department is equipped with sophisticated laboratory equipment in areas like E foundry, Industrial Automation center of competence in association with Bosch-Rexroth, Bangalore. The department is equipped with Product Design Center supplied by AICTE under NCP scheme.

Industrial Automation Workshop News

Mechanical department conducted two workshops on Industrial Automation for TE and BE Mechanical students on 28th December to 30th December 2015. 25 students from BE Mechanical enrolled for Advanced course – Mechatronics and PLC and 26 students enrolled from TE Mechanical enrolled for Basic course – Hydraulics and Pneumatics. 3 students from VJTI, Mumbai participated in the workshop.

The Basic course consisted of basic concepts of Hydraulics and Pneumatic systems, advantages and limitations, components, circuits and applications. Advanced course consisted of concepts of Mechatronics, Sensors and PLC. Both courses had lecture sessions and effective hands-on sessions along with a mini project conducted by faculty members of Mechanical department. Such workshops would help students to get well acquainted with new concepts and technologies used in industries and also carry out their project work in a better fashion.

Industrial Automation Workshop News

 

Mechanical department conducted workshop on Industrial Automation for TE Mechanical students on 31st December 2015 to 2nd January 2016. 21 students enrolled from TE Mechanical enrolled for Basic course – Hydraulics and Pneumatics. This was the second Basic Course in succession to the basic course conducted on 28th to 30th December 2015.

The Basic course consisted of basic concepts of Hydraulics and Pneumatic systems, advantages and limitations, components, circuits and applications. The workshop had lecture sessions and effective hands-on sessions along with a mini project conducted by faculty members of Mechanical department.
